🚴 Sergio García Wins Desafío Granadillas | MTB Victory in Benagalbón, Málaga

This past weekend, our expert guide and former professional cyclist Sergio García took a stunning victory at the 12th edition of the Desafío Granadillas Brothers Bike, a challenging mountain bike race in Benagalbón (Rincón de la Victoria), part of the 27th Málaga Provincial Cycling Circuit in the MTB Half Marathon category.
With over 400 riders on the starting line and a course featuring 29 kilometers and 1,094 meters of elevation gain, the event proved to be one of the most exciting races of the season.
🥇 A Victory with a Pro’s Touch
From the very first kilometers, Sergio García, riding for PC Alcalá del Valle–Cachanbike, made his intentions clear. A former pro with teams like Eolo-Kometa and Glassdrive, he quickly moved to the front of the pack, battling it out with a group of elite riders.
The decisive moment came during the climb to Torreón de Albenda, where Sergio broke away and gained a significant gap over his rivals. Cheered on by crowds along the course, he managed his lead skillfully, taking no unnecessary risks on the descents and crossing the finish line solo with a time of 1h20’30” — claiming first place overall and in the elite category.
